Following the 1966 merger agreement between the National Football League and the American Football League, it was determined that an AFL-NFL World Championship Game would be held at a neutral site between each league’s champion at season’s end. That first Super Bowl was played between the NFL champion Green Bay Packers and the AFL champion Kansas City Chiefs on January 15, 1967 at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California. Now, you can celebrate the first-ever Super Bowl with this officially licensed silver-plated Super Bowl I Commemorative Game Coin, available exclusively from the Danbury Mint. Designed by master artists in America and officially licensed by the NFL, the obverse of the commemorative features raised relief helmet designs depicting the logos for both teams in that year’s Super Bowl along with the official NFL logo and final game score. The commemorative᾽s reverse showcases the official Super Bowl I logo and raised relief text noting the date and host city. You will receive and pay for one commemorative per month.
